Angelcorpse is a blackened death metal band born on the ashes of Pete Helmkamp's previous band, Order From Chaos, originally from Kansas City, Missouri and relocated to Tampa, Florida. They formed in 1995, and originally split up in 1999, reforming in 2006. Their lyrical themes are generally those of anti-Christian sentiment and concerning warfare. The band has been involved in a number of American and European tours involving other metal acts such as Immortal, Krisiun, Cianide, and Watain. An East Coast USA tour was completed in May 2007 and a European tour and West Coast USA tour are planned for 2008.

[edit] Regarding the band's name

Regarding the band's name, Pete Helmkamp stated in an interview; "We put it as two words on the demo, so Osmose learned it that way. But that was just a mistake at the printers...It was one of those flukes. But it is just a single word... It just seems to look more visually pleasing as a single word. It fits with the phonetics: we say 'Angelcorpse', not 'Angel Corpse'."[1]
